In Latin, vivarium translates to "place of life"—a container for holding live animals, like a fish tank or a terrarium. In the 2019 sci-fi horror film directed by Lorcan Finnegan, the word becomes a chilling metaphor for modern suburbia, the prison of domesticity, and the eerie lifecycle of parasitic reproduction.
