Insert the USB into the front port. Turn the receiver on. Press the HOME MENU button on the remote. Navigate to: System Setup -> Other Setup -> Software Update -> Update via USB .

Turn off the SC-85 using the front panel power button (not the remote). Unplug the power cord for 30 seconds. Plug it back in.
