In the labyrinth of Tantric literature, the Maithuna Rahasya (The Secret of the Sacred Union) is often whispered about but rarely understood. It is not a manual of physical technique, but a map of consciousness. Today, we dive into two specific, powerful signposts on that map: and Verse 77 . Verse 2: The Duality that Creates the One "Where Shiva is the still sky, and Shakti is the moving flame, their meeting is not an act, but a return." The number 2 in esoteric mathematics represents polarity. We see it everywhere: sun and moon, inhale and exhale, waking and dreaming. In Maithuna, "2" is the illusion of separation. Jai Ma, Jai Ka
Before seeking union with another, sit in silence and visualize the two forces within your own spine. The cold, lunar breath (Ida) and the hot, solar breath (Pingala). Maithuna begins when these two become one in the Sushumna. Without this inner marriage, physical union is just friction. Verse 77: The Silence Beyond Ecstasy "Seventy-seven times the serpent coils, and on the seventy-eighth, it disappears. So too, the lovers, after the final breath, forget the world and remember only the Self." The number 77 is deeply symbolic. In many traditions, 7 represents completion (7 chakras, 7 days, 7 notes).
