Social Intelligence (SI) is the capacity to know oneself and to know others. It involves the ability to navigate complex social relationships and environments effectively. Coined by psychologist Edward Thorndike in 1920, he defined it as "the ability to understand and manage men and women, boys and girls—to act wisely in human relations."
