The site UI looked like it hadn't been updated since 2005. No responsive design. The search function was broken for years.

Their front page looked like it was built in 1999 (and probably was), but their meetups were legendary. Free pizza, terrible coffee, and surprisingly high-level talks about PostgreSQL, Golang, and network architecture. codec.kiev.ua reddit

I'm trying to find a specific article about debugging kernel panics on Ubuntu 16.04. Google keeps showing results from codec.kiev.ua/forum but the links are 404ing. The site UI looked like it hadn't been updated since 2005

I was cleaning out my old hard drive and found some photos from Codec conferences back in 2018-2019. For those who don't know, codec.kiev.ua was basically the hub for developers, sysadmins, and IT geeks in Kyiv. Their front page looked like it was built

It was purely grassroots. No corporate sponsorship filters. You'd get senior engineers from Rozetka, MacPaw, or Grammarly giving raw, unfiltered talks. Their job board was surprisingly good for 2015-2019.

codec.kiev.ua is the correct answer, but it's also the sad answer.
